Counter Sales Person

This person must have a working knowledge of vehicle systems and components and must be able to look up the parts application of the product in the extensive in house inventory parts  by using the electronic computer  in an efficient and accurate manner.

The primary functions of this position are to provide prompt and courteous service to all customers and potential customers of the store (including walk-in, delivery customers and telephone shoppers). Direct contact with our customers will require neatness in personal appearance and the ability to establish and maintain good relations with customers by providing courteous, efficient, and professional service.

• Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
• Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
• Oversee the parts sales process from customer inquiry to finding the part to invoicing the customer.
• Work with National Parts Locators to locate any parts not in stock.
• Complete special order part request for any parts that need to be ordered for the customer.
• Communicate with customer on the status of any parts ordered and notify them upon arrival of their order.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Serve as backup to inventory or stocking department as necessary.
• Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
• Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
• Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer and that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience with auto parts sales preferred.
• People focused and obsessed with providing great customer service
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Professional appearance and strong work ethic
• Proficient with computer skills is preferred
• Hours are Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

with some Saturday and evening overtime opportunities.
